Why “Just Be”?

The simple perspective that returns me to peace is this idea of just being. What it means to be nothing more than a mere human trying to walk with God.

This idea organically brings relief, acceptance and grace. Accepting that the unquenchable perfectionist mentality is defeated by no one (and no work) other than the Lord Jesus Christ.

Overabundant grace covers me in reconciliation through all my shortcomings, disappointments, and weaknesses.

Relief that I’m not alone here, even in this broken world separated from God, there’re millions more scattered across the planet. We share in the unfortunate feelings and tragedies inevitable to our human existence.

“Resist him (the enemy), firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world” (1 Peter 5:9, parenthetical mine)

(1 Peter 5:9, parenthetical mine)

I used to live in a state of reaction, instead of being. I knew nothing more than to self-destruct in reaction to my human existence. I “lived” in chaos, danger, and pain until I was desperate for something more.

After growing up in legalistic Catholic and Mormon churches, I swore off religion as the answer. Christianity was lumped into this category so of course I’d curse its name too. No one could convince me a Savior was real until I met a person whom I thought might’ve been.

I can attest that God chases after us in the most unique and personal ways. Of course, He knew the only way to get my attention at age 21, was to send a cute boy. A charming gentleman, but mainly a servant of the Lord’s to proclaim His truth. Naturally, I listened to every word, and to God’s glory, it was the Holy Spirit speaking through him.

Long story short, what started as motivation to impress a cute boy, turned into a genuine desperation to know God and save my soul. I started praying and studying His word. My previously unquenchable heart was fulfilled.

Jesus found me at age 22 and I soon learned what it meant to just be one with God. Now my new favorite thing in life is encountering Him, taking on the identity of His child above all else.

I’m forever in awe, indebted, as I receive the great gift of His teachings, wonders, love and mercy. I joyfully share these in my writings here, for the glory of His holy name. Amen.

I hope and pray His love and presence is received by each of you lovely readers, through my journey, perspectives, and inspirations.

Please remember you’re never alone, that I can be here for you if you’re in need of encouragement and prayer with something. But above all, the Holy Spirit, your gracious Almighty God and Creator is here for you and He’s so much closer than you know.

Have no intimidation, it’s just me, just

Enjoy and God bless!

The B-eatitudes

(Matthew 5:1-11 CEV)

“Jesus’ disciples gathered around him, and he taught them:

God blesses those people

who depend only on him.

They belong to the kingdom of heaven!

God blesses those people who grieve.

They will find comfort!

God blesses those people who are humble.

The earth will belong to them!

God blesses those people who want to obey him more than to eat or drink.

They will be given what they want!

God blesses those people who are merciful.

They will be treated with mercy!

God blesses those people whose hearts are pure.

They will see him!

God blesses those people who make peace.

They will be called his children!

God blesses those people who are treated badly for doing right.

They belong to the kingdom of heaven.

God will bless you when people insult you, mistreat you, and tell all kinds of evil lies about you because of me. Be happy and excited! You will have a great reward in heaven. People did these same things to the prophets who lived long ago.”
